The Burnaby Extreme Weather Heat Response Team has called an Extreme Weather Alert for August 11th until cooler weather.

The Burnaby Extreme Weather Heat Response provides for cooling sites to be made available when weather is hot enough to pose a higher health risk to people who are experiencing homelessness.

The purpose of this notice is to inform that an Extreme Weather Heat Alert has been called.  An outdoor cooling site is being provided in the Burnaby Civic Square Park, close to the corner of McKay and Central.  The Park is behind the Bob Prittie Library on Willingdon.

We ask all recipients of this Alert to:

1. print the attached poster on bright YELLOW paper and post it in areas where homeless individuals may see it

2. notify all your staff that the Alert has been called and ask them to spread the news to people who are homeless and to refer people to the cooling site.  Please see the notice for a map.

Thank you for your assistance.  When the alert ends, you will receive a notice which we also ask that you post.
