Thank you Coldest Night of the Year 2021 for our most successful CNOY to date!
THANK YOU BURNABY! Although we had the extra challenges of a global pandemic as well as organizing the logistics for a new virtual model for CNOY 21, we blasted past our goal of $70,000 raising over $86 000!

This year’s Virtual CNOY boasted of over $86K raised, 42 Teams, 288 Walkers, and almost 1000 donors!
Thank you ALL our participants, sponsors, and donors for your enthusiasm and helping us make this CNOY such a successful year!
You can also visit our official Coldest Night of the Year 2021 page for more photos and info! As well as read our feature article in the Burnaby NOW!
This year our virtual walk took place over the week of February 13 – 21, 2021, with teams choosing their own route and walk time to maintain a safe, socially distanced event.
We kicked off the week with a snowy toque pickup day from the parking lot of our sponsor Save On Foods at Willingdon and Kingsway.

Burnaby Teams
We’d like to celebrate our top 10 teams and walkers this year. 🙌

GPS Map Art Contest (#CNOY21gpsart)
To add an interact element to our virtual event this year, we also held a GPS Map Art contest where walkers submitted GPS map art of their walk route. We are pleased to present the winners of the Most Creative and Most Amusing Categories:
GPS Art Winner – Most Amusing
Team Homeless Enders – Captain Karen O’Shannacery

Here’s what our judges had to say about this entry:
Good use of a basic design to create an interesting drawing. Good neighbourhood spread, between two major streets (Boundary Road & Willingdon Ave). Comedic thought to select a cruise ship design during the pandemic – You can’t go cruisin’, but you can paint the town with a cruise ship! HA!
GPS Art Winner – Most Creative
Team LHF – Kowalenko Family

Here’s our judge’s comments on this entry:
Loving the robot-esque design! Interesting use of the neighbourhood blocks to produce an interesting and fun walk – looks like the kind of walk someone would actually do. Clearly took some local knowledge and pre-planning. Reminds us of the Iron Giant! Solid distance covered – 9.55km!
Thank you everyone who participated in our GPS Art contest! We had lots of fun reviewing the entries!
