The Coldest Night of the Year in Burnaby Fundraiser is taking place this Saturday, February 24 starting at Marlborough Elementary School (6060 Marlborough Ave Burnaby), in support of The Society to End Homelessness in Burnaby and Burnaby Community Services.

Karen O’Shannacery, president of The Society to End Homelessness, says, “This fundraiser will enable us to continue offering an average of 120 homeless and at-risk people much needed immediate assistance such as food, clothing and transit, all of which is critical as we work toward long-term solutions such as shelter and housing.”

Local businesses have chipped in to put on the event, and local bands Freedom95 and Unusual Suspects will be providing the musical backdrop for the event. Registration opens at 4pm, with opening ceremonies at 5pm and walk begins at 5:15pm.
