Homelessness Action Week – Connect 2020

We are happy to announce that our HAW Connect 2020 event happened successfully despite the extra COVID challenges! We were able to feed 150+ guests with the help of and many other service providers and volunteers!

We were able to give out 135+ comfort kits to our guests and 37 guests had their free flu shots thanks to Fraser Health. The BC Nurse Union was on hand to take blood pressure and the Purpose Society gave Naloxone training. Our RN Laura administered foot care for our guests. Progressive Housing also attended to speak to our most vulnerable guests. We want to give a special shoutout to the South Burnaby Metro Club Basketball Division (SBMC) who donated 500 pairs of socks through Your City Sports. These were delivered by Ed Sit, Basketball Chair.

Finally a special heart felt thank you to all of our great and dedicated volunteers! What a team!
